At the time of the shooting (4:00 p.m.) I was a couple of blocks away from where the shooting took place.
I was inside the Liberty Square Library talking to Eric Thomson, the director. We both heard the noise and he said, "Don't worry, it's probably fireworks."
We just kept on talking and pretended nothing happened. I left LIberty City and two hours after I got home Mr. Thomson send me an email, which said: Maria, I didn't want you to worry. I knew exacly what was going on. Read the story and you will find out what fireworks I was talking about.
I read the story and said "duh, I'm so stupid I should have known better."
If I knew what was going on I would have gone to the scene.
